Weekly Specialized Defensive Training

TSI Mid Atlantic Orioles baseball, Mid-Atlantic Orioles softball, and Lady Titans softball programs are excited to begin weekly specialized defensive training sessions for these TSI team members.

The weekly specialized defensive training sessions are for one hour and begin the week of 11/2 (for baseball) and run through the week of 12/14. TSI softball teams will begin specialized defensive training sessions starting in December since the softball teams are still competing in tournament play in November.  This is a new program that we wanted to introduce this year and it was outlined in your contracts and tryout meetings.

Each specialized defensive training group will focus on baseball and softball defense – with particular emphasis placed on footwork, glove positioning, and fielding. Players will run through drill sets during the one-hour time frame for each session.

These specialty groups will also allow coaches to work on pre pitch rhythm, tracking skills, and how to make the “ESPN” play.

Specialized Defensive Training Notes:

• Baseball and softball teams will continue to have their Saturday or Sunday team practices.
• These mid-week workouts are optional but highly recommended.
• Due to COVID restrictions we are limiting the class participation so coaches have assigned you to the class based on your primary position.  You will receive an email from your coach indicating which session you should attend.

Mondays (Infield) – Starts Mon 11/9

• 6 pm – 7 pm: 11U/12U
• 7 pm – 8 pm: 13U/14U
• 8 pm – 9 pm: HS

Wednesdays (Outfield) – Starts Wed 11/4

• 6 pm – 7 pm: 11U/12U
• 7 pm – 8 pm: 13U/14U
• 8 pm – 9 pm: HS

Thursdays (Catchers) – Starts Thu 11/5

• 7 – 8 pm: 11U-12U
• 8 – 9 pm: 14U+
