The Home School O’s will return in 2026 – 2027 with an offering for Middle School Aged Players (11 to 14 years old) and High School Aged Players (14 to 18 years old). First and foremost, this is a developmental program. Helping players reach their full potential through work ethics and expert coaching is TSI’s goal with every offering. Players that participate in this program will improve on the field as players and off the field as people. Tuckahoe Sports prides its coaches on being able to teach players how to “play the game the right way”.
The core of this is having fun playing the game of baseball while showing work ethic and sportsmanship to teammates and opponents alike. The Mid-Atlantic Orioles Home School Program has been the model of this, and our coaches intend to continue this with all our teams moving forward!
Tryouts for both teams will be held on September 8th and 10th, 2026, with the Fall Season starting shortly after on September 14th. The Fall Developmental Season will run for 10 weeks and feature 3 practices a week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) as well as up to 3 scrimmages. The goal will be to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of each player and give them a developmental plan prior to games starting in the spring.
Once the fall season concludes, players will be invited to participate in age specific Specialty Groups alongside members of the Mid-Atlantic Orioles Travel Program. These Groups focus on Infield, Outfield, and Catching, taking place from Mid-November to Mid-December. While these sessions will be optional, they will provide players with a great opportunity to hear from all our coaches and continue to work on their skills.
Practices for the Spring Season will begin after the New Year in Mid-January and lead up to both teams’ first game in March. The High School Team will play 14 to 18 games, and the Middle School Team will play 12 to 16 games. This will provide our players with an opportunity to continue their development while competing against some of the best Private and Home School programs in the Area. Most games will take place in Richmond, with a few away games being within an hour’s drive of the city to play other well-known Home School Programs.
