TSI once again wasted no time this summer rounding up volunteers to support our mission of sharing baseball/softball with several long time partners.
Supported by both our corporate partners and Mid Atlantic Orioles staff and high school players, we organized several events in support of our non-profit mission.
- Henrico Police Athletic League (PAL) summer campers visited Tuckahoe Park over three days. Each day 400+ girls and boys are bused to Tuckahoe and spread out over 10 fields learning the basics of our sport. All equipment and instruction was provided thru TSI so that everyone who attended was able to participate.
- TSI partnered with the Flying Squirrels and MLB Play Ball Weekend. Over 200 kids ages 6-12 registered to participate in the day at TSI Training Center. Skill Stations were set up using some of the latest baseball technology and players were able to see metrics on their running, throwing and hitting. We also included a session for special needs kids on the Challenger Field. TSI and Flying Squirrels staff along with Nutzy and Natasha manned all of the stations. MLB supported the event and provided each participant with a Franklin Bat Set.
- TSI again opened the doors to Tuckahoe Little League for All-Star Practices and cheered teams on as they represented our home team Tuckahoe Little League. Additionally, we again supported the Metropolitan Baseball League as they prepared for their annual summer tournament.
Our next event, Challenger Day will be held on Oct 16, 2024. We work hand in hand with Henrico County Schools in providing a day full of baseball for over 300 special needs students. As the new lead organizer for this event effective this year, we are excited to roll out a new layout as well as new partners that will join us.
If you are interested in supporting us either through a gift of your time or a personal donation please reach out to us. We would love to have new supporters as we continue to grow this event.
