Savannah “Sofa” Couch started her collegiate softball career at DII Lincoln Memorial University on a fully paid softball scholarship (2014-2016). During her time there, she posted a team-best .470 ob% (eighth-highest single-season rate in program history) with 35 hits and established a new single-season record after being hit by 16 pitches.
She also registered a .350 batting average, while starting at 7 of 9 different positions. She would then transfer to Christopher Newport University where, as a junior and senior utility player (2017-2018), she would help lead CNU Softball to an overall record of 71-20 and back to back Conference Championships by starting all 47 games at third base with a .945 fld% and being named 2018 All-CAC team, hitting .411 with a .500 ob% in the post-season her senior year.
