Exciting news from the TSI Training Center as we are growing!!!

In the Around the Dugout recording below, TSI Executive Director Lesa Williams shares some exciting news about our training facility in a special announcement for the entire TSI community!

Full Facility Closing

The batting cages go offline starting Wednesday July 22nd and the facility will be closed Thursday July 23rd at 2pm and will be closed through Sunday July 25th. We will open Monday July 26th for camp. Cages will be unavailable through the entire construction project. Please call for reservation to use the field and bullpens.

Facility Expansion FAQs

• What areas will be affected during construction?
  • We will lose the weight room, TPA & batting cages starting July 23rd through September with an anticipated early return of 1st floor cages as they continue finishing the 2nd floor
• What is the construction schedule?
  • Construction will begin on Thursday July 23rd and be completed mid to late September
• What is included in the construction?
  • Cage 1 on 1st floor will be taken out to expand the weight room
  • 2nd floor will have approximately 7 cages
• We are bringing the Sports Performance Performance in house and will start the program in mid-September
• Construction staging area will be located where?
  • Rear of the facility similar to the Solar project
• Why is communication provided so late?
  • This has been an ongoing project and we were awaiting Henrico County Permits. If we didn’t do it this summer we would need to wait until the summer of 2027
• How will TSI supplement fields & cages?
  • TLL is currently not in season and until fall ball we have access to fields other than fields 6 & 7 that are under construction
  • We have also requested offsite fields for our teams in August
• Will there be room for lessons at TSI during this period?
  • Yes, we anticipate setting up lanes on the field at different hours to accommodate member usage, and or machines on the field for use when open.
  • We will have the bullpens but there is NO HITTING in the bullpens
  • As always, but especially during the construction period it is imperative that you call for a reservation as space will be limited
• There are new batting cages outside that can be used although there are no machines. Our machines are for indoor use only.
