Tournament Rules 10U-14U

🥎 WINTER MADNESS Softball Rules

🕒 Game Format

  • Games are 5 innings or 55 minutes, whichever comes first.
  • DROP DEAD at 55 minutes
    • No finishing the batter
    • No reverting to a previous inning
    • Game ends immediately
    • Final score stands — ties allowed
  • Round Robin Format
    • The second team listed is the Home team
    • Example: “Krush vs. Firebirds” → Firebirds is Home

🏆 Seeding for Championship

  1. Series Record
  2. Head-to-Head
  3. Runs Allowed
  4. Runs Scored
  5. Coin Flip (if still tied)
  • #1 Seed chooses Home or Visitor in the Championship game

⚾ Championship Tiebreaker

  • If tied at 55 minutes: Finish the current inning
  • Still tied? → International Tie Breaker (ITB)
  • Home team always bats last
  • If tied after 1 full ITB inning →
    ➤ Team with the most total runs scored in the tournament wins

📋 Lineup Rules

  • Bat 9 players + 1 Extra Hitter (EH)
  • Must end with same number of batters and in same order
  • If injury and no sub: spot is an out each time

🧤 Defensive Rules

  • Free defensive subs
  • 3 outfielders allowed

🧱 Live Ball Rules

  • Ball off top net: Live, catchable for an out
  • Ball off top net/fence in foul territory: Dead
  • Ball off outfield fence: Live, not an out
  • Ball over outfield fence line: Automatic double
    • No home runs

⏱️ Pace of Play

  • 2 warm-up pitches per inning for pitcher
  • No catcher throw-downs
  • 1-minute max between innings (3rd out to batter in box)

🏃‍♀️ Courtesy Runners

  • Required for catcher
  • Must be:
    • Last batter out, or
    • Legal sub not in the lineup

🚫 Other Rules

  • No walk-up music
  • Sportsmanship is required from all players, coaches & spectators
  • Ejected individuals must leave the facility immediately
