Tournament Rules 10U-14U
WINTER MADNESS BASEBALL SERIES RULES:
All games will last five (5) innings or have a 55-minute time limit, whichever occurs first.
DROP DEAD AT 55 MINUTES! No finishing the batter, no reverting back to the previous inning. The final score is what it is at the 55-minute mark and games may end in a tie.
Final game of each series date will be determined by the following criteria in order: record for the series, head-to-head, runs allowed, then runs scored. A coin flip will be used to decide a tie if one still exists following the above criteria.
(In the event of a tie in a championship game, after Drop Dead AT 55 Minutes expires. Teams will complete the inning. If a tie still exists then teams will go into the International Tie Breaker. Please note the Home team still gets their at bat even if the visiting team scores during ITB. After one complete inning of ITB and the score is still ties; Team with the most runs scored for the tournament will be deemed Tournament Champion.)
You may bat 9 players plus 1 Extra hitter, but you must end the game with the same number of batters in your lineup as you started with and in the same batting order. In the event of an injury and no available substitution, an out will be awarded for a missing batter each time she is up.
Free defensive substitutions and you CAN play with 3 outfielders.
Balls may be played off the top net and are considered live and an out if caught while still in the air. Batted balls that hit off of a top net or fence in foul territory are considered dead. Balls that hit off of the outfield fence are considered to be live, but will not be considered an out if caught in the air. All balls hit above the outfield fence line are automatic doubles. No home runs.
Pitchers are allowed only two (2) warm-up pitches between innings and without a throw down to second base from the catcher.
Courtesy runners for the catcher are required to keep the game moving quickly and must either be the batter who made the last out, or a substitute who is not currently in the lineup.
No walkup music is allowed.
During the entirety of the tournament, sportsmanship is expected from all players, coaches, and spectators. If the umpire sees fit to eject someone from the game, this person will be asked to leave the facility.
