About Coach Keyna Duncan
Coach Keyna Duncan is a South Carolina native with more than 20 years of softball
experience and a lifelong passion for the game. Her softball journey began at a young age
and continued through high school, where her dedication and work ethic earned her a
partial collegiate scholarship and the opportunity to compete at the college level.
With over a decade of coaching experience, Keyna is committed to developing young
athletes both on and oƯ the field. She believes the lessons learned through softball extend
far beyond the game itself, helping players build confidence, resilience, teamwork, and
character. Most recently, she has volunteered within her local Little League community,
helping young players grow their skills and compete at increasingly higher levels.
In 2022, Keyna and her family, including her wife Brittany and daughters, Baleigh and
Phoebe, relocated to Virginia and quickly became active members of the local softball
community. Whether it’s batting practice, fielding drills, or cheering from the sidelines, the
Duncan family can almost always be found at a ballfield.
Among her recent accomplishments, Keyna led a Coach Pitch recreational team to the
league’s first-ever postseason championship. She also had the privilege of coaching an AllStar team, where the focus extended beyond wins and losses to building team identity,
confidence, and a love for competition. While trophies are rewarding, she believes the
most meaningful victories come from the growth, friendships, and life lessons players gain
along the way.
Coach Keyna considers the opportunity to coach her own daughter, alongside so many
other young athletes, one of life’s greatest blessings. Her philosophy is simple: “When you
give softball all you have, softball gives it back tenfold.” She leads with enthusiasm, unity,
and a commitment to player development, striving to create an environment where
athletes can strengthen their skills, grow in confidence, and develop a lifelong love for the
game. Her goal is to help build a program where teammates become family and every
player is empowered to reach their full potential.
