Kelly Ayer

Kelly Ayer is a former Division I softball player at the University of Virginia who spent four seasons contributing as an outfielder/infielder for the Cavaliers. She graduated in 2025 with a degree in Cognitive Science with a concentration in Neuroscience. 

During her senior season in 2025, Kelly started all 57 games while hitting .328 with 46 runs scored and 35 RBIs. Kelly delivered several clutch performances, including walk-off hits against Boston College and Louisville, and drove in a career-high four RBIs in a win over No. 15 Stanford. 

Over the course of her career, Kelly appeared in nearly 180 games for the Cavaliers and became known for her speed, consistency, and competitive energy, developing into a dynamic offensive threat and lockdown defender. She was also recognized for her work in the classroom, earning spots on the ACC Academic Honor Roll and the ACC Softball All-Academic Team.

Before college, Kelly was a standout multi-sport athlete at Atlee High School. She earned multiple All-Region and All-Metro honors in softball and served as team captain during her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. She was also a four-year varsity starter in basketball and a three-year team captain, earning three Second Team All-Region selections. 

As an instructor, Kelly brings four years of coaching experience, including leading camps and working with athletes of all ages and skill levels. She focuses on helping players build confidence, sharpen their skills, and encourage a strong competitive spirit.
