In front of a sellout crowd at the Diamond for the 2019 Richmond Flying Squirrels opening night on Thursday, April 4th, Tuckahoe Sports (TSI) players had the honor to carry the American Flag onto the field during the singing of the National Anthem.
TSI Lady Titans, Titans, and Mid-Atlantic Orioles proudly carried the oversized flag into left field and then enjoyed the game with family and friends in the upper deck.
Former Richmond Braves star Ryan Klesko threw out the ceremonial first pitch on a beautiful spring evening. Game temperature for the first pitch was 69 degrees. It was the 10th straight home-opening sellout for the Squirrels in the first game of their 10th season in Richmond.
The overall crowd for 2019 Flying Squirrels Opening Night was a record crowd of 9,845. In the end, the Richmond Flying Squirrels won the game 1-0 and the crowd was treated with post-game fireworks.
Way to go Flying Squirrels, Titans, Mid-Atlantic Orioles, and Lady Titans!
