Katelyn Hubley…job well done!!!
TSI is super proud of you for being the regional Pitch, Hit & Run Competition at Washington Nationals Park!
How did Katelyn qualify:
Katelyn won the local competition at TLL and then went on to win sectionals. She had to be one of the 3 top scores for her age group to advance to regionals at Nationals Park.
The competition consisted of 3 categories:
- Throw into a target and hit the strike zone.
Each participant got 6 balls. Girls could throw overhand or pitch. - Hitting off a tee.
- Running from 2nd to home.
There were 3 participants in each age group. Katelyn was in the 11/12 grouping and it was boys and girls
What was the experience like:
Exciting. Nervous. Only Katelyn could be on the field! Her family watched from the stands. She got to meet some of the other competitors in different age groups and it was fun to hear her name announced. When Katelyn won, her picture was on the Jumbotron. Only the top 3 scores from all 30 MLB stadiums in each category are invited to the all-star game.
