Experience
Worked for the past three years as an Assistant Baseball Coach at St. John’s University in the Big East Conference. Primary role being the team’s infield coach and worked extensively with all Red Storm hitters, mentored a pair of All-BIG EAST selections in each of his first two full seasons with the program in 2021 & 2022.
Prior to joining St. John’s, Wirth served as the Director of Hitting at Prime Performance Athlete Training in Gaithersburg, Md. Before that, Wirth undertook two assistant coaching stints at the junior college level, serving as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Fayetteville Tech Community College in North Carolina after doing two years as the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator at Patrick Henry Community College in Martinsville, Va.
Wirth got his start in coaching at the high school level, coaching teams in Alaska and Northern Virginia, helping lead his alma mater Woodbridge HS to the State Quarterfinals in 2017, after his graduation from Limestone College in 2016 with a degree in sport management. Wirth played his first two years of college baseball at Frederick Community College in Maryland, where he graduated with an associate’s degree in 2014. While at Frederick, Wirth earned All-Region and All-Conference accolades as a sophomore.
Wirth recently completed a master’s degree in sport administration from Arkansas State University.
Wirth also played professional in both the Puerto Rican Instructional Winter League and in the Empire League with the Sullivan Explorers.
