Tuckahoe Sports Inc. is extremely excited to announce the schedule for the first spring season of the Mid-Atlantic Orioles Home School Team!
During our Fall 2024 Season, the home school program saw the formation of our first middle school team. Players participated in development focused practices from September to November and were invited to position-specific workouts with the Mid-Atlantic Orioles travel team during the winter months. Those who attended showed growth in their knowledge of the game as well as execution on the field!
We are extremely proud of our older, 8th grade players, stepping up and taking a leadership role among their peers. This shows the team’s commitment to creating well rounded players on and off the field. Home School players participated in our Community Bike Build, Atlantic Union Bank Seminars, as well as the TSI Annual Lead-Off Event.
Integrating the team into the overall TSI Community has been planned from the start and we are thrilled with what the boys have been able to participate in so far!
After a break in January and Early February, the team picked back up with practice on February 20th with sights on the Spring Season.
The Mid-Atlantic Orioles Home School Team will host the Inaugural Game of the Spring Season on Tuckahoe Park’s Field 9 against the Benedictine Middies.
Throughout the Spring season, the O’s will play 17 games with opponents including Middies, St. Chris, CVHAA Patriots, and other private school teams from the Richmond area.
These games will provide our players with numerous opportunities to continue to grow, develop, and enjoy the great American Game. Providing these athletes with an opportunity to play “School Ball” is another example of how Tuckahoe Sports meets the needs of our community. Our players, coaches, and TSI instructional staff will help this program continue to flourish! Go O’s!
