Our program is designed to develop and teach players the game of softball in order for them to reach their short and long term goals. Using professional staff, we are able to teach players the most efficient and effective skill building methods to progress as a softball player. Whether a beginner looking to learn the basic fundamentals and knowledge of the game or an advanced player wanting to maintain or further their skill level, TSI provides quality resources for all to accomplish these goals. TSI strives on developing players and their knowledge of the game by using the same skill building methods taught at the collegiate and professional levels. Lastly, TSI’s mission is to help youth set a foundation and roadmap to success by helping players build character, leadership characteristics, and most importantly, confidence.

Spring Softball is almost here! Time for Spring Training to knock the dust off and prepare for the season. The Tuckahoe Little League Spring Prep Softball class will allow players to work on their fielding, batting, and pitching. With a professional coaching staff instructing, players are guaranteed quality instruction and reps to polish or even improve their skill set.

This is a fast-paced class designed to improve athleticism and proper mechanics through advanced catching drills, combined with explosive circuit training for increased strength and speed to take your catching to the next level. There will be intensive drills and instruction in all areas of catching: stances, throw downs, receiving, framing, communication, and blocking.

 This is a fast-paced class designed to improve athleticism, range, and proper mechanics through intensive defensive drill work, combined with explosive speed training  to take you to the next level. Players will learn correct throwing techniques as well as correct footwork and glove work for every position on the field.

Power Hitting Insanity

This is a strength building class that will build bat speed and strength in all hitters.  We will go over vision training to help improve the batters ability to pick up the pitch and location.

Will be providing lunches for all Summer Camps.  $35 for the week.

This camp will provide girls with the chance to learn new techniques and improve their softball skills. Campers will be instructed in fundamentals including: throwing, catching, fielding, hitting, pitching, base running, and sliding.  Games will emphasize techniques learned in daily instruction. All players will have an opportunity to have their  throwing and exit speed velocity checked. Each player will receive a written evaluation, emphasizing skills to develop.

Tuckahoe Sports Inc. is proud to announce our Lady Titans Premier Developmental Softball Program, for all Little League players from ages 9-12. If your daughter has a passion and desire to further her skills, TSI will be offering guaranteed roster spots during our upcoming try-outs for our 9 month Lady Titan Premier teams.

Players must complete the try-out process to be offered a roster spot. These teams will practice once a week (August thru April) and play 3 fall tournaments and 3 spring tournaments (not interfering with Little League baseball/softball) this a great way to get your child exposed to a college developmental program while still playing Little League ball.

Theresa began her softball career at Osborn High School where she split time between pitching and outfield. As a pitcher she threw four no hitters and one perfect game. While at Osbourn she collected multiple awards and honors: Four time MVP, was named 2nd Team All-District as a freshman and 1st Team from her sophomore through senior year. She made the Washington Post All-Metro honorable mention team her junior and senior year and The Journal Messenger 1st team All-Area utility player her senior year. After High School she continued her career at Longwood University where she received the Golden Glove Award for a .998 fielding percentage. Her college career was short lived, however, as it ended with a torn rotator cuff and pinched nerve her sophomore year. Her coaching career began at Highland Springs High School, most recently she has coached a 12u and 14u softball team at RBAWest.

Four year starter as a catcher for East Tennessee State University (2006-2010) and three year captain. Hit consistently in the third or fourth spot for three years and maintained on average a 0.990 fld% throughout the four years. During collegiate career provided private hitting and catching lessons and was involved in all camps affiliated with the university. In high school Trisha was a four year letter winner in softball and named All-Conference and All-District from 2003-2006. Radford University Softball standout Nichole Beall joins the TSI Training Center Staff as the new Director of Softball Operations. Nichole has a wide range of responsibilities, as she is involved in every aspect of the softball program. Nichole serves as the lead instructor for all TSI Softball lessons, TSI Softball Camps/Clinics, as well as all of the day to day operations. Nichole, also coaches a number of TSI Lady Titans softball teams.  Nichole comes to TSI as a 2012 graduate of Radford University along with an outstanding softball career, where she was named 2012 National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association NCAA All-American. She was also voted two-time Big South Conference Player of the Year for the years of 2011 and 2012. Nichole, was also named First Team All Mid-Atlantic –Region 2009,2011,2012; First Team All-State 2010, 2011; All State Player of the Year 2012; Second Team VASID All State 2009; First Team All-Conference 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012. Nichole is an experienced middle infielder who along with coaching will be providing instruction in Hitting, Defense, Beginning Pitching, Personal Training, Speed and Agility. Katy comes to TSI with five years of Division I softball coaching experience. She was the assistant coach at Radford University for the past three years. With on field instruction being Lampman’s main focus, the Highlander bats and defensive play flourished during her time at RU. The Highlanders won three consecutive Big South Championships (2009, 2010, 2011) and made two consecutive NCAA Regional appearances (2009, 2010) while Lampman coached there. She was also part of a staff that was named Mid-Atlantic Region Coaching Staff of the Year 2009. The Highlanders broke defensive records for double plays (24) and fielding percentage (.966) and offensive records for batting average (.318), homeruns (74), and slugging (.541) during Lampman’s coaching tenure. A 2003 graduate of Winthrop University and a three year starting catcher, she spent two seasons as a volunteer coach at her alma mater. While with the Eagle’s, she worked closely with the pitchers, catchers, and hitters. Along with coaching, Lampman has provided private lessons that keyed on hitting, pitching, and catching while working several camps at Radford, Winthrop, University of Georgia, Virginia Profiles, Virginia Wesleyan, and Canada over the past decade. Crystal Byars





Coach Byars was a 3 sport athlete at Varina High school where she excelled in Volleyball, Basketball and Softball.  She continued her career at Christopher Newport University where she competed in Softball and Basketball. She was named Dixie Conference Player of the Week multiple times during her career as at catcher for CNU. Crystal currently coaches basketball at Stonewall Jackson Middle School & Lee-Davis High School. Byars currently is a teacher at Lee-Davis High School.

logan tollison

Logan Tollison was a 3 sport athlete at Thomas Dale High School where she competed in volleyball, basketball and softball. She attended North Carolina Wesleyan for one year where she was a first year starter in center field. She transferred to Virginia State University on a full softball scholarship and was a 3 year starter there, playing outfield and ending her career as the starting short stop. She earned a BS in Computer Engineering. Logan enjoys working with kids and is passionate about the game of softball.

Cam Byars: Played football, basketball, and baseball all 4 years at Blacksburg High School in Blacksburg, SC. All state honors in football & baseball. Continued his baseball career as a pitcher & outfielder at USC Sumter in South Carolina. Currently plays/pitches at the highest level of slow pitch softball in Conference USSSA.

A. Pool play will last five (5) innings or have a 55 – minute Time limit whichever occurs first. DROP DEAD AT 55 MINUTES, the score is what it is –no reverting back

B. Games may end in a tie.

C. You may bat your entire roster, but you must end the game with the same number of batters in your lineup as you started with. In the event of an injury and you have no substitutes, you will be awarded an out every time that person is supposed to bat.

D. Only 8 defensive players may be on the field at a time. (2 outfielders, pitcher, catcher, 1st Baseman, 2nd Baseman, Shortstop, and 3rd Baseman) D. Home Team Determined by coin flip by the Umpire prior to the start of the game. Pitcher is only allowed two warm up pitches in between innings with no throw down to second from catcher. Pinch runners for catcher must be last out or a substitute not in the batting order. (THIS IS TO HAVE CATCHER READY TO GO WHEN INNING IS COMPLETE).

E. Balls may be played off the top net. Balls that hit the top netting are considered live, If Caught it will be considered an out. Balls that hit off a net in foul territory is considered dead. Balls that hit off the outfield netting will be live but will not be considered an out if caught in the air after hitting the netting.

F. Seeding will be determined by pool play record. If there is a tie, then we will go to runs allowed, fewest runs allowed =higher seed. If there is a tie, then we will go to runs scored. If there is a tie, then a coin flip will determine higher seed.

A. Five (5) innings or 55-minute time limit. We will finish the inning. We must have a winner.
B. International tie breaker–into effect when 55-minutes or five (5) innings have expired.
C. Umpires will keep time-The Official score keeper will record the game
time in the official book
D. You may bat your entire roster, but you must end the game with the same number of batters in your lineup as you started with.
