Tournament Rules 10U-14U
WINTER MADNESS BASEBALL SERIES RULES:
All games will last five (5) innings or have a 55-minute time limit, whichever occurs first.
DROP DEAD AT 55 MINUTES! No finishing the batter, no reverting back to the previous inning. The final score is what it is at the 55-minute mark and games may end in a tie.
(In the event of a tie in a championship game, home team will be allowed to complete the inning. Team with most runs scored for the tournament will break the tie.)
Final game of each series date will be determined by the following criteria in order: record for the series, head-to-head, runs allowed, then runs scored. A coin flip will be used to decide a tie if one still exists following the above criteria.
You may bat from 8 hitters up to your entire roster, but you must end the game with the same number of batters in your lineup as you started with and in the same batting order. In the event of an injury and no available substitution, an out will be awarded for a missing batter each time she is up.
Free defensive substitutions and you CAN play with 3 outfielders.
Balls may be played off the top net and are considered live and an out if caught while still in the air. Batted balls that hit off of a top net or fence in foul territory are considered dead. Balls that hit off of the outfield fence are considered to be live, but will not be considered an out if caught in the air. All balls hit above the outfield fence line are automatic doubles. No home runs.
Pitcher is allowed only two (2) warm-up pitches between innings and without a throw down to second base from the catcher.
Courtesy runners for the catcher are required to keep the game moving quickly and must either be the batter who made the last out, or a substitute who is not currently in the lineup.
During the entirety of the tournament, sportsmanship is expected from all players, coaches, and spectators. If the umpire sees fit to eject someone from the game, this person will be asked to leave the facility.
